The Youth's Fashion Fad

supra shoes

Our boutique only sells typical apparel for teenager and adult but when it comes to punky fashion, we are quite bleak. However, the store is also filled with casual and party teenager gowns and accessories, shirts, pants and shoes along with perfumes and  bags.

However, one of the most seen among the young ones is their pair of colorful supra footwear that indeed are punky and stylish.  They blend well with the rugged jeans, loose shirts, coat, and cap with wrist bands to top it all.

One thing about dressing up the young ones is that they are never afraid to revolutionize their fashion taste, lifestyle and health habits including acne treatment  for improved personality and that is something adults can consider.

Perhaps, if we can go on shopping again, I shall consider buying stuffs for the punky and innovative youngsters.

Human Hair for an Elegant Dress

Model Simona Gotovac on 165ft human hair gown by

I have a thing for bizarre and unusual designs because they define creativity and freedom of expression. But, I was totally awed when I saw an article of stuffs made from human hair or otherwise. Yikes.

One stunning work of art is this gown that can really make your jaw drop! Very cool, indeed!

Urban Fashion for Us

my family with a cousin from the big city

My pop is hailed from Luzon, however, because of his old works as a naval soldier, he had to travel a lot leading him to meet my mom. We basically grow up in Mindanao and until now, we still are.

We somehow managed to visit his relatives whenever we can. But, early this year, his niece was given the chance to visit Gensan on a business purpose. She was the only relative who had the chance to step foot Mindanao.

Thus, we tagged everyone else including the kids. I got this picture and assessed if we are far dressed different in a rural city from a highly urbanized one. I guess, we are not. hahahhaha!

Glad to see her again. My pop and the rest of the family would want to have our other relatives visit us. But, I guess in due time when we all have resources to invite everyone else. hahahha!

Lanky Beautiful Models

Runway models are too lovely to see when they boost the dresses and everything else. However, they make  a wrong impression too that to be beautiful, one has to be too thin with bones all showing up.  Sigh!

I can only commend fashion initiatives where clothing apparel and accessories are good to see too on big people.

I was able to cut down my weight through jogging, and taebo exercises. But, to really remain fit and healthy, I need healthy diet and some good vitamins  to stay in tune with proportions and beauty. Talking some runway motivation, huh. hahhahaha!

When people  have indeed low esteem, it is almost impossible to motivate them that they are beautiful in spite of their weights or heights.  I wish more runways can  contain big people too.

Hot Picks on Our Sundresses

Since summer is already up here in the Philippines where temperature goes as high as 35 degrees Celsius,  only cold venues and refreshing outfits can be preferred.

The store has been weak in sales in the last two weeks but lately, three of our summer dresses were purchased.  The timing was all ok since holy week is also a time for long recreations and vacations to beaches among other areas.

And with that, we need more summer dresses to fill the store. I only wish we can replenish the stocks soon enough. Although my trip to my sister is still way ahead, I have to find other means to fill up demand.

Get Fashion Trendy By the Book

Fashion is by itself an art; what seems to be plain stuffs to someone can be total glam for others.  I always believe that one would have to be comfortable with what he wears otherwise a beauty or not can do no good.

But for some fashion  experts, fashion itself is about symmetry, innovation and coordination. Even if we try harder to make any stuff good on us, there are just some things and styles that don't fit at all.  Further, we have to consider our skin tone, age, and weight because what appears to be trendy and classy to others may not at all look good on us.

The fashion trends are changing, elusive and tempting and  fashion designers, celebrities and socialites contribute a major influence on where these trends should lead. The product lines at runways define what can be the next fad on the street.  Even recession can't adversely contain fashion hypes.  Still, we get vibrant fashion industry news and these influence the public intensely.

We adore beauty exuded from crafted clothings, and fashion accessories and sometimes, we are just lost with how we can be stunning. But, fashion experts say timeless style is possible. We can follow these basic rules: asset accentuates, monochromatic looks, elegant color and line combo, and trendy accessories among other things.

But, it also advised that we should not compromise comfort for style and fashion. Truly, if there is a fashion book that spells out everything, we can get this from Stylecaster and sometimes, experts do also say, fashion can be also about breaking the rules and innovating. This goes to say that as a person, we can set our trend. Where do designers come from anyway?

Sibling Fashion Taste

My younger siblings like loose shirts, semi - fit pants  and doll shoes / flip flops

one afternoon in a dog show, siblings in shorts and loose shirts

my other sister on party mood

with Tammy again but on mountain hike stuff

Having all girls at home makes our fashion taste varied. Since my mom did not raise us to be always on the go, independent and with less prim - and  - proper values, we were always on loose pants and tops. It was only Tammy who had her own sexy and stylish taste for clothing.

I on the other hand, bloomed late. LOL!  I only started to wear fit fancy tops and pants of different  colors, sexy shoes and fancy bags when I get married.  Did I regret this? Partly because I could have enjoyed my social life. Yikes!

But, my youngest siblings still prefer the shirts and pants over sexy stuffs. The thing is whatever we choose to sport on, we have to be first and foremost, comfortable.

It is always fun to be with loved ones regardless if they are stylish or not.

2010 Oscar's Best and Worst Dressed

Penelope Cruz, simply beautiful

The much awaited Academy Award or formerly Oscar's Award was concluded last March 7, and it was aired live in the Philippines at 10 am, March 8. Although I had not seen the entire program, I had the chance to view the preliminary until Penelope Cruz presented the first award.

I indeed liked the red gown of Penelope, simply dashing but since I had not seen the entire award's night, I could only view what others seemed to consider as best and worst dress. Although, I would not agree to some of their classifications. I quite like too Mariah Carey, Demi Moore, Sandra Bullock and Cameron Diaz but disliked the fit choices of Zoe Saldana, Charlize Theron, and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Beautiful Yoon Eun Hye

I first saw Yoon Eun Hye in Princess Hours and since then, I am hooked this quite talented Korean actress/singer/model/entertainer. And with this adoration, I viewed n times her other films and korean drama series: The Vineyard Man, The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince and her most recent, Take Care of the Lady Castle.

This lady is only 26 years old but she has indeed capture global interest because of her talents, beauty and wits. No wonder, she has won renowned awards for her stints.

She is simply a beauty and no wonder she is oftentimes selected for product endorsements and runway.

So,

New Hair Cut For Me!

Two days ago, I decided to have a new look from my usual long hair  with no bangs. I wanted to try something new since I found my own hair style dull and boring already.

So, I dragged my sister to the parlor and had the V-cut again but with layered bangs to give width to my oblong face.

Everyone said I looked younger although, the new hair cut makes me edgy and conscious. hahahhahah!  But, in the coming days, I shall get used to the new look and just glad, I had the hair cut.

Elegant Styles on PBB Big Night

We watched Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Big Night when 2010 big winner was announced. We are only prouder since Melai, the big winner, is hailed from General Santos City and our entire city is simply rejoicing with her triumph.

But, I quite loved and adored the hostess' gowns and Melai's fit. So, I found this Youtube segment of the big night. Enjoy!

Red Rose, Red Dress, Chocolate . . .

Chocolate Dress, Yummy!

What a poor title but red is my fave color. Feng Shui even recommends that orange, maroon and red shall bring me good luck. With or without Feng Shui,, I simply love red. Somehow, it signifies confidence, joy, and courage.

But, February is a red month for everyone especially that Valentine's Day is looming around.  For one, I love to have the red roses, chocolates and lovely dinner with my loved ones.

But, what if I get to have this chocolate dress for Valentine's Day? Geez, I shall surely pick on the stuff while wearing it. LOL!

Unlikely Fashion

People wear stuffs in so many different ways. I must say these define their unique taste for fashion and personality, and perhaps their moods for the moment. The latter is actually  based on personal experience and observation.

Sometimes, when I feel that I am glad or something, I can just practically wear anything and they simply  appear appealing. But, once the mood is gloomy, somehow, the taste just becomes poor and bitchy. Sigh!

So, the punk and emo got their own  fashion statements too. While I get amazed and disoriented by their styles, at least they express their emotions well. LOL!

Fashion can be a release of stress and other pent - up emotions that others simply rely on vices and drugs among other things. Teenagers for one, get hooked to these easily that  drug rehab can only be necessary.

Parents,  government organizations and other private institutions must continuously educate the society of this ailing predicament.  In the Philippines alone, HIV - AIDS among the young ones becomes an alarming problem together with drug addiction.

We can only be more responsible.

Filipino Designer Joined UN Eco Runway

Oliver Tolentino, an international Filipino designer who had made remarkable works for known Hollywood VIPs including 1978 Miss Universe Margaret Gardiner, had joined the 28 other international couturiers  along with RTW  brands and accessory designers. Guess what? He is the only Filipino designer to join the fashion show of United Nation with the strong message of "stylish sustainability."

Filipino  fashion works are quite unique especially the ones that are crafted through Mother Nature's handmade. These include Filipiniana gowns and Barong Tagalog made from pineapple and abaca leaves.

We are certainly proud that another  Filipino is hailed for his works and craftsmanship!

Worst and Best Dressed at Grammy's Awards

Grammy Award or originally called Grammophone Award which is given to outstanding performance of artists in the music industry.

My personal faves are Beyonce who won 5 Grammy Awards  including Song Of The Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song, and Best Contemporary R&B Album and Taylor Swift who earned  four awards including Album of the Year for Fearless. She is the youngest artist to ever received the Grammy honors.

But, I wont miss this award's night without citing who were worst and best dressed.

Lady Gaga was at her usual unusual gear and so was Imogen Heap while Melody Thornton of Pussycat Doll do deserve an A grade. Click here to see more.

Worst and Best Dressed at 2010 Screen Actors Guild

The 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild was concluded last January 23, 2010. And, I won't miss checking how our Hollywood actors and actresses painted the red carpet with their nice and not-so-nice wardrobe.

Christina Applegate earned the highest praise with her very lovely frock although I like too the wardrobe Kate Hudson. On the far side, Joan Allen earned one of the lowest remark for her fancy dress.

The Screen Actors Guild is a labor union covering film and TV performers worldwide. The Guild is long been founded since 1933.

For this year, my personal fave Sandra Bullock had again won an award for her tilt in the Blindside.

Fashion Style and More

I was way too old - fashioned with my style and taste before since my wardrobe was limited to colors blue, brown and black with old - maid slacks and blouses. I was even teased to be 10 years older.

But, somehow my mother in-law had pressured me to dress up pleasantly that I began mixing and matching colors, accessories, bags and shoes. Well, the rest is history.

Now, that we have our fashion store, we have to be at pace with the current trends. We have to at least show off these newest styles to our potential customers. Internet through our Linksys router indeed helps us a lot.

The family helps us too with getting, comparing and assessing styles and how they shall suit the Filipino unique taste.

Fashion Runway for Spring 2010

I did check what could be the expected fashion trends now that the new year is coming fast. I was simply fortunate enough to search from Youtube and got this project runway of great designers, Michael Kors, Nanette Lepore, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Milly by Michelle Smith, Alexandre Herchcovitch, Anna Sui, and Doo.Ri.

There were nice designs and styles that I personally like but as usual, I kinda wonder when I can have the weight and aura of the ramp models. I am pretty sure that diet, exercise and
diet product help them achieve their present sizes.

The models are simply too skinny that I wonder if the dresses they put on may appear as beautiful if they are worn by big people like me.

Cooler Fashion for Cooler Days!

Now that Christmas holidays are coming, the weather seems getting colder each morning. Of course, I have to shift between long pajamas and short pants.

But, what I pretty like about Santa Claus holidays is the reunion and parties I get to attend while others wear some party costumes including lingerie costume to boost.

When September comes in, the entire Filipinos start to become festive and creative with all the holiday decors and accessories. But, there are always the winter fashion from the snowing countries that fascinate us to the point that we impersonate them.

We can only wish for snow and holidays too soon.
