Home - Made Fashion

My mom in - law is quite a talent; for one, she is a former government director, a boy scout international trainor, businesswoman, writer and fashion artist herself. She is a wonder woman along with a number of great women publicly or otherwise  known.

Normally, she would make my kid and us  some pairs of sleepwear and the latest creation was a blouse she made for me.  The blouse was baggy, so, to make it all trendy and classy, I pair it with a belt and  sleek pants. The overall creation, then, was simply lovely. LOL!

Mothers are simply great in taking care of their youngsters even if they age until their prime, or when they have problems in relationships, health, work or even  adult acne.  This is only a basic illustration of how mothers simply love their families and as a mother, I am only happy to serve and take care of my own loved ones.

So, in spite of the distance, we never miss to have a chat with mother in-law or give a call when needed. We quite miss her along with the rest of the family that we hope we can have them soon.

Most Expensive Denim

trash denim

I am a denim woman and simply find any pair a good one when comfort and flexibility is in question. So, I made my search of what could be the most expensive denim and I am indeed surprised that the old trash 501 jeans manufactured in 1880s and acquired by a Japanese collector in 2005 was sold for $60,000. Geez!

But, another stunning fact is that Dussault Apparel’s luxury Trashed Denim jeans highlighted with 16 of 1-carat rubies, 26 of  .05-carat rubies, 8 of .05-carat diamonds and 1080 grams of 18k white or rose gold is sold at $250,000. Simply amazing!!! Should I buy this denim, ya sure, why not if I have that much but I will surely place my behind lock glasses. LOL!

We all have our eccentricities and to varying extent that others simply love show off their talents, skills or in our songbirds' case, their fashion taste.

I am a big fan of Rihanna and Lady Gaga. They are angels from heaven with all their vocal talents but the choice for outfit is simply outrageous.  I guess I call it their own unique personality and come as a package. Well, outrageous or not, we just adore these great talents!

Tips on Picking the Right Cocktail Dress for You

Sarah Geronimo during her Gensan City 2009 concert

Style experts shall say that nude colors like black or beige shall do are safe and fine but if you really want to stand out in the crowd without looking out - of - place or lost in another world, I still believe on these basic rules on cocktail dress:

  1. Pick colors that complement your skin tone. If you are pale, a contrasting like black or red can accentuate your looks;
  2. Pick styles that hide your flaws but highlight your assets; If you have a bulging tummy, highlights on the neckline can draw more attention to your upper body.
  3. Consider your height. Long dresses for petite people will surely make them shorter.
  4. Wear complementing accessories including bags and footwear.
  5. Show confidence in what you wear. If you believe that you look good, this is actually exuded in your aura as you walk on the red carpet. This shall highlight more your cocktail dress and not the other way around.

Painting Our Boutique Store Red

Red is a color of passion, assertiveness, enthusiasm, elegance and happiness but with all these meanings, I simply love red that I prefer it more than other subtle colors. With too much liking, I simply have half of my wardrobes and things in any hue of red. But, red paint for our store is not simply a matter of preference; my Feng Shui, a Chinese belief of balancing the laws of heaven and earth for comfortable living, says that red is lucky for our store. What a sweet coincidence of fate, huh!

We move our store opening to July 18 to give way to other nitty -  gritty details including hangtags, labels, posters among others. I consider print advertisements, swiper machine, or sell merchant account  for more revenues.

Feng Shui may be believed to be a scam for marketing or a subjective and unscientific claim for better results, however, I can only need all the help I can get for an efficient and effective administration of our business.  Lots of luck is all I need with our hard work.

How to Appear Lady-like on Camouflage Fashion

with colleagues  and fellow airsoft players

Athletic attire or comouflage looks were least of my concerns before as I was no athlete when I was younger nor an athlete now but I love to do recreational exercise which to this date has included airsoft games, badminton, bowling, basketball and jogging.

During an airsoft game, we are required to be on our uniform with protection masks against passing through pellets. But, in spite of this, we get the bruising depending on the hit's proximity.

Airsoft game is normally played by men, however, because of the adrenaline rush, excitement and impact on weights, women begin to consider this  men - once - dominated sport. Personally, I have to still put on my earrings, tie my hair with a cute but not too conspicuous ponytail and with a sexy, light but powerful airsoft gun.  The ending is always a blast!!!!  I quite miss it though that I hope I can next join friendly tourney.

Bad Economy for Fashion Industry

The impact of economic recession continues to prevail making a good number of companies worldwide to retrench employees or to declare bankruptcy. The fashion industry remains plagued as people would rather prioritize their food, shelter, and education. In my country, the greater public would rather prefer semi-used clothing ("ukay-ukay") for their cheaper values.

This quite makes me alarmed  as we place our boutique to a mall's space and with higher operational costs like rent and personnel salary, I can only get anxious but remain hopeful and innovative.

This bad economy is really hitting almost everyone that supplemental revenues like affiliate program  can be an appealing option.  Some of my fellowmen would rather work abroad to compensate more for their working hours while the rest of Filipinos endure hard and difficult living. We can only hope that the economy fully recovers and that living can be comfortable again.

Underwear Fashion of Filipino Celebreties

I saw this from national news of a quite elegant showcase of underwear and I could only be glad when I saw Pokwang, a comedianne, kissing her male partners as she did her ramp. LOL!

Here's the news clip from ABS - CBN news page.

Tattoo Designs

Our own tribal tattoo design

I adore tattoos if they are freshly made but once time erodes the color, they become too nasty to see. So, without compromising my good skin from permanent print, we prefer to use henna tattoo that can just wear off after two weeks.

There are celebrities who are publicly known for their fancy tattoos. Angelina Jolie alone has a good number while our local celebrity Ai Ai delas Alas has her arm and butt tattoos. LOL!

And, since schools prohibit tattoos much more on their teachers, I keep my tattoos on hidden parts. Last time I had visible ones, they were on my hand and ankle. A few students noticed them and I simply had a good tease with them all.

Life is always short, we can always have some spices in it and it includes trying tattoos for the heck of it.

Urban Fashion for Us

my family with a cousin from the big city

My pop is hailed from Luzon, however, because of his old works as a naval soldier, he had to travel a lot leading him to meet my mom. We basically grow up in Mindanao and until now, we still are.

We somehow managed to visit his relatives whenever we can. But, early this year, his niece was given the chance to visit Gensan on a business purpose. She was the only relative who had the chance to step foot Mindanao.

Thus, we tagged everyone else including the kids. I got this picture and assessed if we are far dressed different in a rural city from a highly urbanized one. I guess, we are not. hahahhaha!

Glad to see her again. My pop and the rest of the family would want to have our other relatives visit us. But, I guess in due time when we all have resources to invite everyone else. hahahha!

Pet Apparel

When we had our own hybrid dogs, we simply keep them outside of the house although we tried to keep them indoor but they simply made a chaos out of the things. Hahahah! I guess we were really not that good master-trainers.

We are more of dog – lovers than other animals. I personally detest reptiles and rodents regardless whether they are harmless or not. My kid however, adore anything that he can consider as pet. The last pets we had were tortoises that after a month, they were declared dead. Sigh!!!! Must be the water.

However, when we visited our sibling’s home, she had a pair of chow chow one year old dog. Because of their quite big size, we can’t even carry them. So, in as much as we want to cuddle them and sport them with latest pet apparel, there are simply no RTW – apparel for them.

Dressed – up dogs are simply amazing and adorable. Should I get to have my own dog, I shall however pick for a smaller size that can fit into my shoulder bag. Hahahhahah!

Finding Nice Flip Flops

It has been extremely hot since February and this is even aggravated as rotating brownouts take their toils. Usually, the summer wardrobe of most Mindanaoans include shorts and shirts to cool down. I could not blame them when they actually swarm the malls for a more refreshing time.

Whenever I can, I simply sport my pedal pants, shits and flip flops. And, since I dont want to compromise my fashion taste, I can only mix and match the colors. hahahaahah!

I have green, pink and silver slippers  and put-on sandals to make the day less humid and warm. But, I want to buy more to complete my rainbow collections. Geez! This summer is indeed about color and sun!

Lanky Beautiful Models

Runway models are too lovely to see when they boost the dresses and everything else. However, they make  a wrong impression too that to be beautiful, one has to be too thin with bones all showing up.  Sigh!

I can only commend fashion initiatives where clothing apparel and accessories are good to see too on big people.

I was able to cut down my weight through jogging, and taebo exercises. But, to really remain fit and healthy, I need healthy diet and some good vitamins  to stay in tune with proportions and beauty. Talking some runway motivation, huh. hahhahaha!

When people  have indeed low esteem, it is almost impossible to motivate them that they are beautiful in spite of their weights or heights.  I wish more runways can  contain big people too.

Wear Comfy Summer Clothes

The thing with summer and rotating brownouts is that they can get into your nerves pretty badly. Gosh! I have to endure all the heat and no sale all at the same time. Sigh!

Somehow, our daily fit includes shorts, flip flops and cotton shirts. They help a little to ease the heat but if the temperature gets all so high, we can only hit malls and stay there until the lights get back.

With bleak sales and no work, my pocket is quite drained. Sigh! Paying the bills gets more and more cumbersome. To top it all, I may have to skip my expensive insurance. Too bad, I could have checked  online life insurance  and compare prices and benefits.

These economic crisis and El Nino make life harder and less convenient. No wonder, a number of families go for multiple jobs and head to beaches just to cool down and make through. Gosh! I might as well start considering another work.

Women's Lingerie: Appeal and Self Esteem

For centuries lingeries have long been used in the form of bone - hugging corsets, camisoles and alike. For some, these lingeries were to appeal the opposite sex, and to boost social stature.  Women those days used lingeries to attract men, to envy other women and to show off how well off they were in the society they lived in.  In spite of the discomfort of these good old - days lingeries, women endured them for reasons given. Women then were limited in their roles and basically they were fixated to marriage and keeping their homes.

But these days,  women now are socially, politically and professionally active. They are not limited to home roles anymore as they fill in job and positions in politics, law, healthcare, education and even sports. Thus, the need and role of lingeries have changed as well. The old mindset about lingerie is now replaced with lingeries that serve not only to appeal the opposite sex but also to improve self esteem. Further, comfort and fashion have become a complementary requirements for lingeries.    These have become primary criteria for selecting and using any form of lingerie.

More importantly, it is not women who are concerned with what they wear but also men too. So, reasons for picking the right undergarments goes beyond women's basic essentials.

Sexiness is not anymore defined to women or men with curves and statistics. It is now relative to feeling. Specifically, looking and feeling good makes any one sexy regardless of their gender, age and weight.   Thus, fashion designers go for sexy lingerie for everyone of different forms and figures.

Thus, getting the right picks  like discount lingerie not only brings worth to every penny paid but it also assures that we shall be proud, comfortable and confident that not only because we wear beautiful undergarments but also we define our selves with them. We ooze a feeling of power, sensitivity and appeal.

Hot Picks on Our Sundresses

Since summer is already up here in the Philippines where temperature goes as high as 35 degrees Celsius,  only cold venues and refreshing outfits can be preferred.

The store has been weak in sales in the last two weeks but lately, three of our summer dresses were purchased.  The timing was all ok since holy week is also a time for long recreations and vacations to beaches among other areas.

And with that, we need more summer dresses to fill the store. I only wish we can replenish the stocks soon enough. Although my trip to my sister is still way ahead, I have to find other means to fill up demand.

Get Fashion Trendy By the Book

Fashion is by itself an art; what seems to be plain stuffs to someone can be total glam for others.  I always believe that one would have to be comfortable with what he wears otherwise a beauty or not can do no good.

But for some fashion  experts, fashion itself is about symmetry, innovation and coordination. Even if we try harder to make any stuff good on us, there are just some things and styles that don't fit at all.  Further, we have to consider our skin tone, age, and weight because what appears to be trendy and classy to others may not at all look good on us.

The fashion trends are changing, elusive and tempting and  fashion designers, celebrities and socialites contribute a major influence on where these trends should lead. The product lines at runways define what can be the next fad on the street.  Even recession can't adversely contain fashion hypes.  Still, we get vibrant fashion industry news and these influence the public intensely.

We adore beauty exuded from crafted clothings, and fashion accessories and sometimes, we are just lost with how we can be stunning. But, fashion experts say timeless style is possible. We can follow these basic rules: asset accentuates, monochromatic looks, elegant color and line combo, and trendy accessories among other things.

But, it also advised that we should not compromise comfort for style and fashion. Truly, if there is a fashion book that spells out everything, we can get this from Stylecaster and sometimes, experts do also say, fashion can be also about breaking the rules and innovating. This goes to say that as a person, we can set our trend. Where do designers come from anyway?

Right Fashion for the Right Age

Fashion is truly an art; an expression of our moods, and thoughts. I say, when we are happy or sad or feel flirty, we express this in our clothing and accessories. Cool!!! Other people may appreciate this but for outfit that seems to be outrageous, people just give a disapproving stare.

But, this should not stop people to express themselves. In fact, I say, they who go against the fashion rules simply make their own fashion statements.

But, regardless whether we dress up according or not to our age, our physical well – being and personality as a whole is greatly affected by HGH which others seem to believe the fountain of youth. As we age, our beauty withers. Thus, some studies go for hgh releasers to help reverse the aging process.
Our outfit is only complementary of how we see ourselves. Thus, if we believe that we are decaying beauties, any expensive or elegant outfit cant feign this perception.

Truly, a correct mindset creates our very own fashion statement.  Whatever we see good and make us feel good even if social norms contradict it, I say, go for it!

My New Casual - Sporty Feet Slip-On

Lovely Dr Scholls Shoes

Since I travel a lot, I have pairs of rubber and doll shoes to at least make the travel comfy. But, somehow, I look so manly with what I wear, that sometimes, I have to use heeled  shoes.

But, my latest addition is this  Dr Scholls Shoes I asked my mom in - law! It looks like a Crocs to me since it is mainly made out of rubber but the strap is made up of leather.  So, it's a total combo classic to me.

Too bad though that there is only one pair. Thus, I can only show the pics and not able to sell them. LOL!

Warm Fun Day On Nylon Fit

Grinning when I was a butterfly preserved sample at

Saggitarius Mining Inc Tour at Tampakan, Tupi

with fellow bloggers

Last March 6, we were invited by Saggitarius Mining Inc (SMI) at their project site to assess their mining practices. I indeed had my hesitation but somehow, I was appeased when their technology was presented.

The travel to the project site was long, bumpy, scary and warm that we were asked to be on long sleeves, rubber shoes and pants.

I wore some nylon  fancy blouse and although the sun was scorching at its peak, somehow, the tickles of sweat were simply temporary and had that cool feel instead.

Nylon stuffs are quite a relief amidst extreme heat.  And, even if I have to cover my top, somehow, I still look elegant and sexy. LOL!
